The Boissieux family settles in the Drôme des Collines
For five generations, our family has been deeply rooted in its land at Les Balmes, in Romans-sur-Isère, in the Drôme des Collines. Located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, this rolling and verdant landscape provides an exceptional natural environment for cultivating black truffles.
The Boissieux ancestors were passionate about gathering various wild mushrooms in the surrounding forests. Grandparents passed down their knowledge to their children, who gradually developed an interest in wild black truffles. This is how our truffle-growing estate was born, as we learned to cultivate oak and hazelnut trees — the host trees of this precious treasure in the heart of northern Drôme.
